About this site

wellwaterfiltration.org is an independent consumer guide for people on a private well. We cover how to read a water test, which problems need which kind of treatment, how to size a system, which whole-house and sediment filters have specifications we could verify, what installation costs, and where to find a contractor who does this work.

Who runs it

The site is owned and published by Black Cat Software LLC, a US company based in Florida. We are not affiliated with any water treatment manufacturer, dealer or installer.

How we research

Product specifications on this site come from manufacturer documentation and retailer listings, and we note when a figure could not be verified. We do not publish invented ratings or reviews. Guidance on contaminants and limits follows published EPA standards and state health department guidance, and we link to the sources we rely on.

What we are not

We are not a laboratory and not a health authority. We have not tested the water or the products ourselves, and nothing here replaces a certified lab test of your own water or advice from your state or county health department. Treat our pages as a starting point for reading your results and comparing equipment, not as a diagnosis.

We are also a publisher, not a contractor or a retailer. We do not sell or install water treatment equipment. Installers listed in our directory are independent businesses; we do not vouch for their work, and you should get multiple quotes before hiring anyone.

How the site is funded

We earn commissions when you buy through some of the links on this site, including as an Amazon Associate and through affiliate programs run by manufacturers that sell direct. That does not change what we recommend or what you pay. Details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
