Rusco 1 in. Spin-Down Sediment Filter

Sediment filter · 25 GPM · Treats sediment · $47 at retailer as of Oct 2026

The Rusco 1 in. Spin-Down is a centrifugal sediment filter with a reusable mesh screen in a clear housing and a flush valve, made in Brooksville, Florida. It handles 1-25 GPM at up to 150 psi through 1 in. slip ports and measures 11-3/8 by 5 in. Polyester screens run from 24 mesh (700 microns) to 1000 mesh (15 microns) and stainless from 500 to 75 microns; 100 mesh (150 microns) is the default, with 250 mesh (50 microns) and 500 mesh (30 microns) finer.

IAPMO R&T lists the 1-100-F under File No. 6759 as a lead-free plumbing product (Safe Drinking Water Act Section 1417(d)). That covers lead content only; no NSF/ANSI filtration-performance certification is recorded. Maximum temperature is not stated on the cold-water page.

Rusco's site shows no prices; the 100 mesh 1-100-F was $46.80 at SupplyHouse.com as of Oct 2026, and it is also sold on Amazon. Rusco publishes installation guides and sets no professional-install requirement, so an owner or plumber can fit it. All components are warranted for 12 months from original sale, liability is limited to the cost of the part, and using tools on the housing voids the warranty: hand tighten only.

CertificationsIAPMO R&T lead-free listing (File No. 6759)IAPMO R&T Product Listing, File No. 6759, 'Lead Free Plumbing Products', issued to Rusco of Brooksville, LLC, 'current as of 10/6/2026', lists model '#1-100-F - 1 in. sediment filter molded 100 mesh with flush valve' (and the other 1 in. -F mesh sizes). 'Products are certified to the following standard(s): Section 1417(d) of the Safe Drinking Water Act; The lead content requirements of Section 116875 of the California Health & Safety Code.' This is a lead-content listing only, not a filtration-performance or NSF/ANSI 42/53 certification. rusco.com/certifications also cites IAPMO certificate N-13735/4988 (NSF/ANSI/CAN 61-2022, 'Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects') but the model list for that file would not load, so coverage of this model under NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 is unconfirmed. IAPMO files WP-16938 (NSF/ANSI 53-2021) and WP-16939 (CSA B483.1-2021) cover only the Rusco POE1-MS point-of-entry system, not spin-down filters. WQA product database: no results for 'Rusco'. Our take

This is the default first stage for a sandy or gritty well on a 1 in. line: a US-made housing, a screen you flush instead of replace, and mesh choices from 700 down to 15 microns. It is not a final filter, so add a 5-micron cartridge behind it. Mind the hand-tighten rule, and if your line is 1-1/2 in. or you want disposable fine elements, look at the 1-1/2 in. unit or the Sediment Trapper.
