US Water Systems Centrifugal Sediment Spin-Down Filter (3/4 in.)

Sediment filter · 25 GPM · Treats sediment · $72 (sale) at US Water Systems as of Oct 2026

The US Water Systems Centrifugal Sediment Spin-Down Filter is the company's own-brand 3/4 in. spin-down for coarse sand and grit ahead of a tank system. It ships with a reusable 100 mesh (152 micron) polyester screen and is rated 25 GPM maximum, 150 psi at 73 F and 100 F at 40 psi. Six other screens are offered, from 24 mesh (711 microns) down to 1000 mesh (15 microns), but even the finest is no substitute for a 5-micron cartridge.

The inlet and outlet are 3/4 in. FPT and the drain is 1/2 in. FPT with a flush ball valve. The clear cover shows the sediment load and comes off without tools, and the screen is flushed rather than replaced, so there are no consumables. The housing is 11.375 in. high and 7.25 in. wide. No certifications are stated. The 1 in., 1.5 in. and 2 in. spin-downs on uswatersystems.com are resold Rusco units.

Price was $71.95 at uswatersystems.com as of Oct 2026 (sale; regular $119.92). The page lists only the company-wide one-year money-back promise; no separate parts warranty is printed. Install is DIY on a simple inline housing.

Listed Products can be viewed at: http://pld.iapmo.org'. The sheet is a generic spin-down instruction sheet (it covers 1 in., 1.5 in. and 2 in. filters) and does not name model 412-075-F-100; the IAPMO directory could not be queried today to confirm which company and models File #6759 covers, so nothing is recorded in certifications. • Low cost entry point for coarse sand and grit ahead of a tank system

Cons

  • 3/4 in. ports only in the US Water Systems brand; 1 in. and larger lines are Rusco units

  • Only the one-year money-back promise is printed; no longer parts warranty stated

Our take

Buy this if your well line is 3/4 in. and you want a tool-free, flushable grit trap for about $72. If the line is 1 in. or larger, the Rusco 1 in. spin-down is the comparable unit with a printed 12-month warranty, which this one lacks. Either way, follow it with a 5-micron cartridge before any UV or softener.
